What is a peptide?
A peptide is a short chain of amino acids, the basic building blocks of proteins. Collagen and elastin, which serve as the skin’s structural support, are proteins. The peptides used in cosmetics are small in size, which allows them to interact with skin cells and act as signaling molecules.
